Friendship Gatherings - IDC launched this unique dialogue activity in 2009. Our intent is to promote mutual understanding, as outlined in the mission of IDC, by bringing people together in friendship.
We at IDC invite you to join us in breaking down the barriers between our communities by interacting with each other at your churches, synagogues, or other meeting places. We will bring our Turkish families and homemade Turkish food to create an informal, friendly, and sincere atmosphere. We look forward to your company.
If you would like to contribute to the 'dialogue', be a part of this project and host a Friendship Gathering, we as IDC will join you with several Turkish families in your predetermined place preferably during the coffee hour after the mass. The food will be supplied by these families who are willing to interact and befriend with different people.
Along with food, we will show a brief video presentation to acquaint the audience with IDC and dialogue events in general. The projector and other apparatus needed will be provided by IDC. We shall also embellish and enrich the gathering with two brief and informal speeches where one of the speakers will be associated with IDC and the other speaker will be from your community.
We may make minor changes to these suggestions as we work along. The essential purpose of these gatherings will be initiating friendships and interactions.
