4th IDC Luncheon Forum was be held on Thursday May 1, 2008 at IDC’s Newark office. Colonel Rick Fuentes, State Police Superintendent, made a speech about top priorities of state police. He gave many examples during his speech. He invited community representatives for a visit to ROIC with community members.

Ashura Program at Temple B'nai Or
Temple B’nai Or invited IDC for Noah’s Pudding (Ashura) program. Around 80 7th to 10th grade students attended the program. Program included tasting of Noah’s pudding followed by a presentation by two young volunteers of IDC, Semra Kurucan and Nuriye Aksoy.

We will act together again to celebrate the landing of the Noah’s ark and the deliverance of Moses and his people from Red Sea by distributing Noah’s Pudding for free.

Intercultural Trip to Turkey - Jan 3-13 2008
IDC’s most recent intercultural-interfaith trip to Turkey took place between Jan 3rd and 13th, 2008. 11 Members of Co-Existence House of Rutgers University and two professors attended the trip. The group had opportunity to see historical sites as well as get to know the Turkish culture very closely.

IDC’s most recent intercultural-interfaith trip to Turkey took place between Nov 30th and Dec 9th, 2007. The group had opportunity to see historical sites as well as get to know the Turkish culture very closely. In addition to visiting religiously important sites like Hagia Sophia, Ephesus, House of Virgin Mary, underground city and carved chapels in Cappadocia, the group attended a whirling dervishes ceremony and enjoyed dinners with local families.

Whirling Dervishes visited NJ
UNESCO declared 2007 as Rumi Year. Therefore, the Interfaith Dialog Center organized a live performance of Whirling Dervishes at NJPAC on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007. It will be remembered with its ineffable spiritual performance, indescribable mystic costumes and heart-stimulating live music.

Abraham's Table Dialogue Luncheons 1 - Martyrdom and Terrorism
First Abraham’s Table Dialogue Luncheon this year was held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 451 Van Houten Street, Paterson NJ 07501. Speakers from three Abrahamic religions explored the issue of Martyrdom and Terrorism from different angels. Turkish food was served before the discussion. Q&A followed the speeches.

Dialogue and Unity Dinner
IDC organized a Dialogue and Unity Dinner with the celebration of the breaking of the Ramadan Fast on Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Hyatt Regency New Brunswick Hotel. As New Jersey is one of the most diverse states of the nation, this dinner, we believe, was a good opportunity to give message of dialogue, unity, harmony, solidarity and peace in NJ. That’s why, many political and non-political leaders and organizations served on the host committee of the dinner.
